AB1475 DOES VEIN WALL THICKNESS HAVE PROGNOSTIC VALUE IN BEHÇET’S DISEASE? A PROSPECTIVE FOLLOW-UP STUDY
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background We reported the first controlled doppler ultrasound study showing increased common femoral vein (CFV) thickness in Behçet’s Disease (BD). [1] also recently showed that CFV is a distinctive feature of BD, rarely present other inflammatory or vascular diseases with specificity higher than 80% for cut-off value ≥ 0.5 mm. 2 However, association between and any organ involvement, disease course treatment during has not been demonstrated so far. Objectives This aimed to assess longitudinal prognostic measurement prospective follow-up BD patients. Methods In this study, we included 195 patients diagnosis BD. The clinical, demographic, data biomarkers were recorded routine visits. Bilateral was measured ultrasonography by an experienced radiologist at same day. Patients started follow up prospectively 3-6 months intervals urgent visit. Results At baseline, 98.6% had wall above ≥0.5 baseline last clinical characteristics shown Table 1. 139 mean 26.5 (16.9) months. New major involvement relapse leading change seen 39 (28%) Among 22 (15.8%) new 12 vascular, seven ocular, two neurologic one gastrointestinal involvement. 36 only mucocutaneous developed 9 follow-up. These nine thicknesses compared without however reaching significance (0.83 mm vs 0.73 right CFV, 0.80 left CFV: p >0.05 both) 47 patients, second done 19.8 after There no statistically significant difference measurements both CFVs (First vs. 0.79 0.76 mm, p=0.26; 0.75 p=0.26). did find modality, relapses. Conclusion which non-invasive diagnostic tool does show over time our preliminary results suggest may have risk development long term cohort patient numbers would clarify Disclosures None. Prognostic value of brachial artery endothelial function and wall thickness.
OBJECTIVES We sought to examine the prognostic value of brachial artery (BA) flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD) and intima-media thickness (IMT) in patients admitted for invasive evaluation of chest pain. BACKGROUND Both FMD and IMT of the BA have been associated with coronary risk factors and the presence of coronary artery disease (CAD). Recent studies on the prognostic value of FMD have been...

BACKGROUND Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), a widely accepted diagnostic marker of acute renal injury (AKI) may be involved in the development of atherosclerosis. PURPOSE To assess the prognostic significance of serum and urinary NGAL and serum cystatin C in patients with stable angina undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on a 3-year follow-up. METHODS We in...

Background: To evaluate the usefulness of the Holter method of sinoatrial conduction time (SACT) calculation in predicting the future occurrence of sinus node disease, and the emergence of indications for permanent pacing in patients with unexplained syncope. Methods: The study group included 218 patients (mean age 55 ± 17 years, 116 men) with syncope of unknown etiology in whom spontaneous atr...
متن کاملThe prognostic value of electroencephalography in epilepsy: a long-term follow-up study
Predicting the evolution of epilepsy is of obvious importance for patients and their families. Value of electroencephalography (EEG) is extensively used in the diagnosis of epilepsy yet its role as a prognostication method remains unclear. The aim of the present retrospective study is to investigate the relationship between serial EEG recordings and long-term clinical and social outcomes in a c...
